[Denarcien] G1 Grimlock

Grimlock is the leader of the Dinobots, a small and elite strike group of the Autobots consisting of powerful bots that take the form of dinosaurs. The Dinobots were built by Wheeljack & Ratchet after Ironhide found dinosaur fossils in volcanic caves near the Ark.

The Dinobot squad is a strong melee combat unit, and its leader, Grimlock, is capable of going head-to-head with Optimus or Megatron in a fight. His alternate mode is a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and his main weapon is the energo sword. Grimlock, together with his Dino squad, is considered by even their own Autobot peers as hardheaded, rowdy, and not so intelligent. 

However, the most memorable moment of Grimlock, in my opinion, is that one time in Season 3 when he accidentally became a genius and saved the Autobots from the Terrorcons (who later combined as Abominus) by creating the Technobots, which consisted of Scattershot, Strafe, Lightspeed, Afterburner, and Nosecone. They combined as Computron, and Grimlock sacrificed his newfound intelligence by transferring his whole “knowledge” to Computron in order to defeat Abominus. 

After winning that battle, the Autobots were safe from danger, and the dumbed-down Grimlock was his old self, happily fishing in the pond (yep, Cybertron has water and fish). I tell you what, if Grimlock had maintained his super-intelligent ability, he would definitely outsmart Wheeljack and Perceptor, and the war with the Decepticons would end in no time.
