[Goldenglue] Grendizer

 

This will be my last post on the Super Robot series before we continue on with the Gundam papercraft. Today let's talk about UFO Robot Grendizer, or simply Grendizer. It is part of the Mazinger franchise created by Go Nagai. Although it has similarities with the Mazinger Z, Grendizer is actually from Planet Fleed. Long story short, Planet Fleed was attacked by the Vegans (lol) and the crown prince of Fleed, Duke Fleed escaped to Earth with Grendizer.

The Vegans who finally catch up to him on Earth now start to attack Earth from their base on the Moon. Duke Fleed who now teams up with Koji Kabuto (former pilot of Mazinger Z) fights back against the Vegans with his Grendizer. He is also assisted by other teammates including his sister Maria Grace Fleed. For whatever plot reason Koji Kabuto has been downgraded to become a sidekick instead in this series, flying a support craft (the TFO & then the Double Spazer) instead of piloting a Mazinger.
