[Asd-Fla] MBF-P03 Gundam Astray Blue Frame

 

We have talked about the two protagonists of the Gundam SEED Astray series in the previous post, so let us talk about the main antagonist of the series - Rondo Gina Sahaku. Rondo is a Coordinator and the twin brother of Rondo Mina Sahaku. The identical twin comes from the Sahaku family, one of the ruling noble families of Orb. The siblings are so similar in appearance, and somehow decided to wear the same clothes and have the same hairstyle, which I believe was done intentionally to confuse people. After the death of their father Koto Sahaku, Gina assumed the leadership and began to plan for his desire for Orb to rule the Earth Sphere (a cliche supervillain ambition). He secretly initiated Morgenroete's collaboration with the Earth Alliance (EA) in building the G Project mobile suits on Heliopolis. Unbeknown to the EA, Morgenroete steals the G Project data and develops their own mobile suits based on that data. So basically Orb secretly build their own Gundams by helping the EA build their Gundams in secret, all the while claiming they are a neutral entity. No wonder the ZAFT is furious.

When ZAFT forces raided Heliopolis on January 25, CE 71, Gina attempted to save the three suits that were already assembled - the Gold Frame, Red Frame, and Blue Frame. He originally wanted all the Astray data to be uploaded on Gold Frame, but it was too much, forcing him to split the data across the three suits. Here's an important life lesson folks, if you want to copy (steal) data from a computer, make sure your USB flash drive has enough capacity. Anyhow Gina managed to escape the ruined colony in the Gold Frame before engaging the Red Frame in a battle. He lost in that battle and returned to Orb to get his suit repaired. His intent to recover the other two Astrays failed as Lowe and Gai took possession of the Red Frame and Blue Frame.

Throughout the series, Gina will face off against Lowe and Gai several times before his demise (ops, spoiler alert) in the summer of C.E 71. He was killed in his Gold Frame Amatsu, being stabbed in the back by Gai's Blue Frame Second L after he refused to concede defeat. His damaged suit was then upgraded into the MBF-P01-Re2AMATU Gundam Astray Gold Frame Amatsu Mina and used by Rondo Mina Sahaku. Mina leaves her twin brother's ambition behind and decides to focus on protecting Orb's interest instead. She even pledges allegiance to Cagallli and eventually becomes Cagalli's most loyal and capable ally.
