So far I have covered the mainstream of Gundam Universe - the Universal Century, the Cosmic Era, and others, now let's talk about the lesser-known part of the Gundam franchise. Today we will talk about the After War universe, only the third series outside the U.C. timeline after Gundam Wing & G Gundam. Why is it lesser known outside of Japan? Well, because the show reached our shore so much later in 2016 (DVD) & 2020 (Blu-ray) and was never dubbed into English.

Gundam X follows the typical plot of a Gundam show - the Spacenoids declare independence, resulting in the Earthians getting mad & starting to fight them using mobile suits and exploiting Newtypes. The conflict then turned into a full-blown war & ended up with the Space People dropping the colonies onto Earth. Well, the Gundam series & colony drop cannot be separated indeed.

As the title suggests, the series is a post-war apocalyptic event after the devastating 7th Space War between the United Nations Earth (UNE) & the Space Revolutionary Army (SRA). In short, UNE lost, after the SRA dropped dozens of space colonies onto Earth. Did you read that? DOZENs of them. In fact, it might be in the hundreds because Earth was totally annihilated by that, leaving only 1% of Earth's population to survive. Damn Spacians, now where are you going to live after hauling all of your colonies to us huh?

This papercraft by gerbera A is the SD FX-9900 GX-Bit aka GX-Bit, or simply the Bit.  A Bit is a drone controlled by the Newtype pilot of the main unit, or their Gundam, using the Flash System. Using their mental capabilities, the Newtype pilot can remotely control up to 12 Bits simultaneously as combat support. You can download the template below.
