[unknown] RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis

 

The RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis" is the second prototype unit of Earth's Federation Gundam Development Project which was stolen by Delaz Fleet's ace pilot, Anavel Gato. The mobile suit was designed to work alongside its brother unit, the GP01 Zephyranthes. The Physalis was developed by the second research division of Anaheim Electronics, which mainly comprised former Zeon engineers. Thanks to the Zeon sympathizer in Anaheim the secrets of the Gundam project were known to the Delaz Fleet, resulting in the ambush of the Torrington Base in Australia and eventually the capture of Physalis. We should not have trusted the Zeons!

Physalis is such a bulky Gundam with great mobility and terrifying firepower. Just look at those feet! One stomp of that can easily crush a mobile suit. It was the only machine equipped with a nuclear weapon, which violated the Antarctic Treaty. With Physalis, Aiguille Delaz, the leader of the Delaz Fleet, launched Operation Stardust, which involved a nuclear attack on the Federation's Naval Review at Confeito and a colony drop on Earth.
