[Cláudio Dias] Dark Knight Tumbler

The Dark Knight Trilogy is the work of David S. Goyer (story/screenwriter) and Christopher Nolan (story/screenwriter/director), 8 years after the Batman was last seen in theatre in Batman and Robin. Joel Schumacher's second Batman movie flopped financially, making the Warner Bros. studio to cancel the planned fifth Batman movie, which was supposed to be called Batman Unchained. Since then, several people picthed to the studio for a new Batman movie, including Joss Whedon. Warner Bros. eventually hired Nolan and Goyer to make the trilogy and the rest is history. The duo aimed for a darker and more realistic tone for the movie, and relied on traditional stunts and scale models with minimal use of CGI (as in other Nolan films). This is of course in contrast with the campy, colorful, comic version of George Clooney's Batman that probably tries too hard to become another Adam West's Batman. The problem with Batman and Robin is that its diverted so much from Keaton's Batman dark elements into a brighter, fun, kid show. What I hate the most about that movie is the cheesy puns and one-liners.

Fortunately, The Dark Knight trilogy fixed all that mistakes and we have the best Batman iteration since Keaton in the form of Bale's Batman. The Dark Knight rides in an armored car called the Tumbler, a unique vehicle that I still think is a weird choice for a Batmobile. It looks cool, though it resembles more of a space ship than a car/tank.

This papercraft is the work of Cláudio Dias, with two templates provided - in black color and a camo version.
