[Monkeyrum] SD G1 Megatron

The Transformers: Generation 2, also known as G2, was a toy line that ran from 1992 to 1994. It was a reboot of the franchise with a mix of classic characters and new molds, featuring vivid 90s bright color schemes and electronic lights and sounds. The line started with re-releases of G1 toys with new decorations and accessories—spring-powered missile launchers or electronic accessories (flashing lights and sounds). G2 toys featured advanced articulation, making them more poseable action figures than ever before. 

As the line continued, however, numerous new molds and play features were introduced. Megatron received the first all-new mold of the line early on as a colossal tank, although he transformed into a gun in the TV series. This is due to the rule that no guns are allowed as toys. 

This continuity was explained in the 1987 Marvel Comics crossover of G.I. Joe and The Transformers, where Megatron teamed up with Cobra and had Cobra Commander change his transformation from a handgun into a tank.

Generation 2 toy line ended in 1995 due to lackluster sales.

The papercraft is the SD version of the Decepticon's leader, Megatron, by monkeyrum. The template needs to be printed from the included PDO files, which also serve as the instruction manual.
