[Uhu02] TIE Interceptor

 

The TIE/IN interceptor, simply called the TIE Interceptor is the Galactic Empire's response to the Rebel's introduction of newer and faster starships. It was based on TIE Advanced X1 design - with the "bent-wing" configuration solar panels. The panels were given a dagger-like design to give the TIE fighter pilot a wider field of vision. These dagger/arrow-shaped panels are equipped with laser cannons on their tips.

Realizing that the TIE Advanced X1 (which was piloted by Darth Vader) is too costly to mass-produce, the Empire introduces the TIE Interceptor which with its upgraded engine has better maneuverability and speed. The disadvantage of the TIE Interceptor is the lack of both shields and hyperdrive. But this was compensated with its top speed of 1,250kph. Only the Rebel's RZ-1 A-Wing interceptor is fast and agile enough to match the TIE Interceptor in dogfights.

This papercraft model was designed by Uhu02 and comes with only 10 pages of the template. The killing part is of course all those smart parts that'll make the build more challenging.
