Gundam SEED Destiny - Cosmic Era (CE)

The year is CE 73, two years after the war ended and ZAFT and the Earth Alliance signed the peace treaty. ZAFT got a new pretty-face chairman, Cagalli is now a political representative of Orb and Athrun who now defected to Orb disguised as Cagalli's bodyguard, under a porn-star pseudo-name Alex Dino. The story started similar to SEED, but this time it was three ZAFT's prototypes that got stolen by the Phantom Pain. Karma, huh. 

The highlight of this post is, of course, the mobile suit piloted by SEED Destiny supposedly new protagonist, Shinn Asuka - the ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam. ZAFT lost all of their Gundams in the previous war and developed advanced prototype mobile suits known as the Second Stage Series. The mobile suits under this program are:

•     ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam
•     ZGMF-X24S Chaos Gundam
•     ZGMF-X31S Abyss Gundam
•     ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam
•     ZGMF-X88S Gaia Gundam

Similar to Strike, Impulse is a general-purpose mobile suit that can adapt to different combat situations by changing its backpack unit called the Silhouette packs (similar to Strike's Striker packs).
