[Gwi-jang] Zoid-Voltron Blue Lion

 

"From days of long ago, from uncharted regions of the universe, comes a legend; the legend of Voltron, Defender of the Universe, a mighty robot, loved by good, feared by evil!.."

If you've watched the show, you'll know that these are the lines from the Voltron series opening scene with the great Peter Cullen narrating it. Similar to other Americanized Japanese anime the theme song is completely different than the original version. Search on Youtube for Beast King GoLion opening and you'll know what I mean. Although I prefer the Japanese opening animation sequence more, the song is similar to any other Super Sentai/Ultraman theme song. It goes something like - "One! Plus one! Plus one! Plus one! Plus one!.....GOLION!"

trivia: Go means the number 5 in Japanese. So GoLion means 5 lions.

Thank God that the theme song version that we have is so dope and epic, the amazing work of Jon Petersen and Dale Schacker. We are so blessed with the great themes of the 80s/90s cartoons that we no longer have them in today's show.
